Big News from NTC

  • April 29, 2016
  • General

Last month the biggest nonprofit technology conference happened in the Bay Area. Appropriately named the Nonprofit Technology Conference (NTC), and organized by NTEN, the conference is a perfect opportunity for nonprofit professionals to gain skills, build their network and come home with some cool swag.

This year was a big one for both me and CTN. I was selected to be an Ignite speaker and given 5 minutes and 20 slides to share about My Rewarding Career: Finding Your Passion through Volunteerism. I led a panel discussion titled “Digital Inclusion to Further Your Impact” with speakers from St. Anthony Foundation’s Tenderloin Tech Lab, Chicana Latina Foundation, and The Stride Center. We shared how our organizations have made digital inclusion a priority and how that has impacted the lives of those we serve. Some of what I spoke about was also shared in this article I wrote that was published in NTEN’s monthly newsletter.

Lastly, CTN was given an award! Pictured here on stage with CTN board member Gayle Carpentier and NTEN’s CEO Amy Sample Ward, I accepted the Rob Stuart Memorial Award, which recognizes communities that use technology to disrupt the status quo.

Thanks, NTEN for your leadership and for making this great conference happen each year!

Skye Downing, CTN's capacity-building program manager, says: “If we train 10 organizations & each serves 50-100 people, our impact is expanded. If we hope to close, or even bridge, the #DigitalDivide, this is a way to go about it.” See our Staff Spotlight: ow.ly/2TMX50JOLTX ... See MoreSee Less

Community Tech Network believes that access to the Internet is a human right and that those without the skills to use a computer are at risk of social and economic disadvantage.
