Community Tech Network (CTN) is looking for a contractor (up to 20 hours a week, pay rate $20-25 per hour DOQ, potentially turning into a part-time or full-time employment) instructor to provide online and in-person training in basic computer and internet skills to seniors of the Sonoma County area.

CTN is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007. We believe that access to the Internet is a human right and that those without the skills to use a computer are at risk of social and economic disadvantage. We provide digital skills training while helping our learners acquire home internet and a device. The heart of CTN is our instructors who train individuals and communities and help them live better lives by staying connected and having access to more information and opportunities.

As a Bilingual Digital Literacy Instructor, you will:

  • communicate remotely and in-person with learners, managers, and teammates
  • learn the digital literacy curriculum and be able adapt it to the needs of specific learners
  • make phone calls to establish contact with learners, schedule classes, and assess their digital skills
  • deliver remote and in-person digital literacy classes, one-on-one and in groups
  • report your success using web forms

To flourish in this role, you need:

  • fluency in English and Spanish
  • teaching and communication skills
  • working knowledge of Google Suite (Calendar, Meets, Docs, Sheets, etc.) and other communication and collaboration tools (Zoom, Dropbox, etc.)
  • comfortable with learning new skills, tools and processes
  • experience of operating various devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, iPhones/iPads, Chromebooks, etc.)
  • ability to travel within the Sonoma County area and deliver in-person classes
  • ability to work flexible hours
